Christmas is coming early this year!

Lexington’s FOURTH skatepark is already under construction!!

Lexington’s newest skatepark is currently under construction in Valley Park. Lexington Parks and Recreation worked with Friends for Skateparks to help create a unique and awesome park. We greatly appreciate Lexington Parks and Recreation for their continued support of our passion! This park will definitely add greatly to Lexington’s already amazing list of skateparks. Lexington just became the skatepark capitol of Kentucky.

Stay tuned for a Grand Opening Event!

Night Market 6-3-16

Friends for Skateparks set up a mobile park for the June 3rd Night Market in the parking lot of Broomwagon. Skaters, bikers and rollerbladers seized the opportunity and threw down nearly a 4 hour long insane session that gathered crowds throughout the evening.

Friends for Skateparks board members Roderick Saylor, Reid Small and Steve Guynn were on hand talking about the future for Lexington’s skateparks. We were also selling some awesome t-shirts with 100% of the proceeds going back into our nonprofit to benefit Lexington’s parks.

We still have t-shirts for sale for $25. The t-shirts are Bella+Canvas unisex Triblend short sleeve t-shirts. If you would like to order a t-shirt please email us at with the style and size you want. Payment can be made via our PayPal account.

Friends for Skate Parks would like to thank Broomwagon Bikes + Coffee and Barbarian Supply Company for inviting us out and letting us set up a booth. Also, a huge THANK YOU to all the rippers that came out to participate in the event. Dads with their kids in tow, kids with their Dads in tow, daily riders and some that just stopped in for a trick… without you it would have been an empty lot with a quarterpipe in the corner. You guys made the event a huge success!!!! We will do this again soon! The support you showed for Friends for Skateparks is why we do this.

Skate and destroy!

T-shirts available in large and extra large.

Insane! Who would have thought 2 years ago that we would have a public skatepark like Berry Hill? So many people put in an incredible amount of their personal time to make it happen. To name a few… Gavin. Reid. Ben. Jonathon (Ware-not pictured). These guys killed it! Friends for Skateparks was founded by these guys. They created this non-profit organization to raise money, awareness and to be a voice for our community to the City to make their dream of Berry Hill a reality. I personally can’t thank them enough for what they have done.

On November 13th, 2015 the board for Friends of Skateparks voted me in as the new president. I have had a skateboard under my feet since 1984. I’m incredibly excited about the potential for the future of our organization. I want to thank Gavin, the previous president, for his hard work, personal time and inspiration.

Lexington has long needed an organization like Friends for Skateparks. We have long needed a voice to the City. We have long needed a fundraising organization like Friends for Skateparks. Well, we have it. I want this organization to pick up where Gavin left off. I want this organization to continue to do whatever we can to provide for the best facilities in Kentucky that will increase the stoke for our passion. We will work to build new skateparks and to rehabilitate, expand and improve our existing parks.

Stay tuned to our website and Facebook for upcoming fundraising events. We will need volunteers. We will need your help. This organization is here to serve the community and we will need the community’s help.
